A Big Five Reserve nestled at the foot of the Sneeuberg mountain range, is looking for a FIELD GUIDE.
POSITION INFO:
This luxury private game reserve in the Great Karoo offers an intimate blend of conservation-driven safari experiences and refined hospitality in a remote, scenic setting. They are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable safari professional who can deliver engaging game drives, connect guests to the environment, and uphold exceptional service standards.
Candidate Responsibilities:
- Game drives
- Bush walks
- Guest hosting
- Monthly reports
- Reserve and general maintenance
- Informative presentations
- Key species monitoring
- Data collection
- Security assistance
- Willingness to assist all departments
Core Criteria:
- FGASA NQF2 or NQF4 qualification
- Valid PrDP license
- Valid First Aid certificate
- SAPS Competency certificate needed
- Valid NDT registration
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans (spoken and written)
- Previous Field Guide or conservation research experience
- Computer literate (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), mapping program experience a plus.
- Positive, passionate, responsible attitude
- 4×4 and off-road driving experience
- Team player
- Excellent communication skills with diverse people
- Excellent organization, punctuality, commitment, precision
- Proactive, self-motivated, flexible
This is a live-in position. A meal allowance is provided.
