Our client, based in the Greyton area, requires a motivated and reliable Farm Manager to oversee their grain and cattle farming operations. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with both crops and livestock and is passionate about sustainable farming practices.
Duties include (but will not be limited to):
Manage crop planting schedule, including soil preparation, planting, and irrigation cycles;
Monitor soil health, manage fertilizer and pesticide application;
Manage timely harvesting;
Maintain records on planting, yields, costs, and pest control;
Monitor cattle health, applying treatments and vaccinations;
Supervise feeding, based on nutritional needs;
Manage breeding and track cycles;
Keep detailed records on health, growth, and productivity.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
Minimum 3-5 years’ relevant experience, in a similar position;
Strong agricultural knowledge of daily farm operations;
Familiarity with agricultural technology and modern farming methods;
Proficient in using and maintaining farm equipment;
Effective cattle management and leadership abilities;
Valid driver’s license.
