Farm Captain – Greenside C Jobs in Paarl, South Africa at Number Two Piggeries
Greenside C is one of three dairies—alongside Greenside A and B—that form part of a larger dairy operation located in the Tsitsikamma area of the Eastern Cape. While the three dairies are managed by one share farmer and operate in coordination, this role is specifically for Greenside C, which features a 60-point rotary parlour, milking 800 cows on 250ha of irrigation.
As Farm Captain of Greenside C, you are ultimately responsible for farm performance and will report directly to Justin Davies. You will be driving farm results, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily tasks. You will oversee the health and productivity of the herd, manage farm staff, and implement best practices to achieve operational excellence.
Qualifications &
Minimum Requirements:
At least 5 years proven experience in dairy farm management
Strong knowledge of herd management, breeding, and animal health practices.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Ability to work long hours and handle physically demanding tasks.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards.
A degree or diploma in Agriculture, Animal Science, or a related field is preferred.
