Role Description The Factory Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Randburg, responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations within the factory. This role includes planning and scheduling production activities, coordinating resources, and ensuring that projects meet quality, cost, and delivery targets. The Factory Manager monitors workflows, optimises processes, and implements best practices to maintain efficient and safe operations. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising factory staff, enforcing health and safety standards, maintaining equipment, and collaborating with project, design, and procurement teams. The role also involves tracking performance metrics, resolving operational issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives aligned with company objectives.

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Production Planning and Production Management to organize, schedule, and oversee manufacturing activities.
  • Experience in Quality Control to maintain workmanship standards and ensure products meet specifications and client expectations.
  • Proficiency in Operations Management and Manufacturing Operations to manage factory workflows, resources, and process efficiency.
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills to supervise teams, delegate tasks, and build a safe, motivated work environment.
  • Ability to analyse data, manage budgets, and use basic production and reporting software tools.
  • Sound knowledge of health, safety, and compliance requirements in a manufacturing or shop-fitting environment.
  • Previous experience in factory or workshop management, preferably within shop fitting, manufacturing.
