Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Powder Coater to join our manufacturing team. This role involves applying high-quality powder coatings to various products, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience with industrial painting processes, familiarity with coating equipment, and a strong commitment to safety protocols. Responsibilities
- Operate powder coating equipment, including box feed and hopper type equipment (Wagner, Parker Ionics, Gema, etc)
- Prepare surfaces for coating by performing surface cleaning, sanding, and surface preparation tasks suitable for construction painting and fabrication projects
- Apply powder coatings uniformly using proper techniques while adhering to quality standards in production
- Interpret production documents and specifications to ensure correct application of coatings according to specifications
- Conduct visual color comparisons and inspect finished surfaces for quality assurance
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators and respiratory protection gear
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all phases of coating and handling materials
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by maintaining efficient workflow and reducing waste
Skills
- Experience with powder coating processes and powder coating equipment
- Mechanical knowledge related to coating equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Ability to interpret manufacturing documents and technical specifications accurately
- Familiarity with quality standards in production environments
- Proficiency with basic math for measurements and calculations during surface preparation and coating application
- Knowledge of materials handling, fabrication, assembly, and the use of hand tools or power tools in a manufacturing setting
- Understanding of safety protocols including PPE use, respirator fitting, respiratory protection, and hazard awareness in an industrial environment
- Skills in using precision measuring instruments and working within lean manufacturing principles for efficiency

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour
