Job Summary
The Buffalo Group, an established trucking and logistics company, is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. We are looking for a dependable, knowledgeable, hands-on mechanic who is experienced in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing late-model heavy-duty trucks.
This is a full-time position working with our company fleet. The ideal candidate should be able to independently diagnose mechanical issues, complete repairs efficiently, and help keep our trucks safe, compliant, and on the road.
Responsibilities
- · Diagnose and repair diesel engines on heavy-duty commercial trucks
· Perform preventative maintenance and routine fleet inspections
· Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues
· Diagnose check-engine lights and fault codes using computerized diagnostic equipment
· Repair and maintain air brake systems
· Perform brake, suspension, steering, wheel-end, and drivetrain repairs
· Diagnose and repair cooling and electrical systems
· Service and troubleshoot DPF, DEF, EGR, and SCR emissions systems
· Perform forced regenerations and emissions-related diagnostics when necessary
· Complete oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and scheduled maintenance
· Identify potential mechanical problems before they result in breakdowns
· Perform repairs necessary to maintain safe and DOT-compliant equipment
· Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed
· Keep the maintenance and shop area organized and safe
Requirements
- · Previous professional diesel mechanic experience required
· Experience working on heavy-duty Class 8 trucks
· Experience servicing 2019–2027 model-year trucks strongly preferred
· Strong diesel engine diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
· Knowledge of modern diesel emissions systems, including DPF, DEF, EGR, and SCR
· Experience using computerized diesel diagnostic equipment and scan tools
· Knowledge of air brake systems and DOT inspection requirements
· Ability to diagnose electrical and mechanical problems
· Ability to work independently and prioritize repairs
· Must have your own basic mechanic hand tools
· Must have a valid driver’s license
· CDL is a plus, but not required unless otherwise specified
· Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work as part of a team

Candidate must be able to perform the physical duties associated with heavy-duty truck repair, including standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, working underneath vehicles, and safely lifting heavy parts and equipment.
Pay: $31.00 – $38.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
