Executive Housekeeper | Hluhluwe
Introduction
An exceptional opportunity is available for an experienced Executive Housekeeper to join a prestigious hospitality establishment in Hluhluwe. This live-in position is ideally suited to a motivated hospitality professional who is passionate about maintaining world-class housekeeping standards and creating outstanding guest experiences.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping and laundry departments, ensuring that all guest accommodation and public areas consistently meet the highest levels of cleanliness, presentation, and service excellence. Working closely with management and operational teams, the Executive Housekeeper will play a key role in maintaining guest satisfaction, inventory control, budgeting, staff development, and departmental efficiency.
We are seeking an individual with proven housekeeping experience within a luxury hospitality environment who possesses strong leadership abilities, exceptional organisational skills, and a hands-on management style. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, professional, and capable of leading and developing a team while maintaining impeccable operational standards. A commitment to excellence, a proactive attitude, and the ability to perform well under pressure are essential for success in this role.
This position offers the opportunity to work in a unique lodge environment while contributing to memorable guest experiences and the overall success of the operation. Candidates should be responsible, flexible, hardworking, and eager to learn and grow within the hospitality industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and lead the housekeeping team
- Manage and supervise the laundry team
- Control and manage all housekeeping-related stock orders
- Conduct monthly stock takes and inventory control
- Perform daily room inspections and quality checks
- Manage departmental budgets effectively
- Oversee housekeeping equipment maintenance and usage
- Facilitate staff training, development, and skills enhancement
- Ensure all housekeeping standards exceed guest expectations
- Maintain world-class hospitality and service standards
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience within a 5-star hospitality operation
- Some form of managerial training
- Company knowledge and understanding of operational procedures
- Valid, unendorsed South African driver’s licence
- Previous housekeeping experience
- Experience in the hospitality and service industry
- Experience dealing with guests and staff members
