Events & Business Development Manager
Grimaldi’s Venues @ Cotswold Downs Golf Estate (Hillcrest, Durban)
We’re looking for a dynamic, detail-driven, and highly professional Events & Business Development Manager to join the Grimaldi’s team.
This is a hands-on, client-facing role for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for delivering seamless, standout events. You’ll take full ownership of the event journey—from sourcing and securing bookings to planning, coordinating, invoicing, and managing the event on the day.
At the same time, you’ll play a key role in growing our venues’ profile by building strategic relationships, driving new business, and nurturing long-term client partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Proactively source and secure new event bookings (corporate, private, lifestyle, and estate-driven)
Leverage your existing client base or industry network to generate new business leads
Manage all event enquiries, client meetings, and venue site visits
Create and distribute detailed function sheets for internal teams
Liaise with clients, suppliers, chefs, and operations teams to ensure flawless execution
Handle quotations, deposits, invoicing, and payment tracking
Oversee end-to-end event delivery—from setup to breakdown
Maintain a high standard of service, communication, and professionalism throughout
Requirements
Minimum 3 years’ experience in hospitality, events coordination, or business development
Strong interpersonal and client relationship-building skills
Demonstrated ability to drive sales and convert leads into bookings
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Comfortable working evenings and weekends as required
Presentable, calm under pressure, and service-oriented
Experience with event or venue management systems is advantageous
An existing book of clients or strong professional network will be a significant advantage
Remuneration
Basic salary plus commission structure
Remuneration based on experience and performance
