Pay Rate: At the appropriate step on the Teachers’ Salary Schedule
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated High School English Teacher to join the Lamphere Family. In this educational setting with a diverse student population, the successful candidate will inspire and educate students in a positive and engaging learning environment while developing and delivering a curriculum aligned with state and national standards. This role fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills through active collaboration with colleagues and ongoing professional development.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with English (BA) endorsement for grades 6-12
- Additional certification in any of the following areas- Social Studies (RX or CX); Science (DX) or Mathematics (EX), preferred
- Ability to interact positively with, and motivate, students
- Ability to use data to plan and adjust instruction
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Ability to work with department colleagues to improve student outcomes
- Proficiency in Google Suite applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, etc.) and online sourcing tools with functional knowledge of internet use for search platforms
- Willingness to accept responsibility for student learning and progress
- Ability to withstand the strain of teaching
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable
This position is classified as Exempt
Employment is contingent upon disclosure in accordance with PA-189.
Ability to withstand the strains and successfully manage the responsibilities of the position.
Must demonstrate reliability and punctuality, with a strong record of consistent attendance. Regular and dependable presence during school hours is essential.
