Position: English HL Teacher (Grades 8 and 9)
About the Role:
Curro Foreshore seeks a passionate and dedicated English Home Language (HL) Teacher for Grades 8 and 9 to join our vibrant teaching team. The successful candidate will play a key role in fostering a love of English and supporting students in their academic and personal growth. Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Learning:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons for Grades 8 and 9 English HL students.
Manage, plan, assist, and promote effective teaching and learning in the classroom.
Assess and record students’ progress and provide regular feedback on performance.
Create a positive and inspiring educational atmosphere that encourages student participation and development.
Curriculum & Assessment:
Plan, control, record, and report on assessments by curriculum requirements.
Attend meetings, forums, and workshops for the grade/phase as required.
School Activities & Administration:
Take responsibility for the care and management of school equipment and class resources.
Collaborate with fellow teachers in the grade/phase to ensure smooth functioning and effective communication.
Contribute to the planning and promoting school activities, including sports and cultural events.
Assist with administrative duties as required, including supporting other staff with extracurricular activities and events.
School Culture & Discipline:
Promote discipline within the classroom and across the grade/phase.
Foster and uphold the values and ethos of the school, ensuring a respectful and encouraging environment for all students.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
An appropriate academic and professional education qualification from a recognised institution.
Current SACE registration is required.
Experience:
Relevant experience teaching English Home Language (HL) at the middle school level (Grades 8 and
9).
Experience with the IEB curriculum is an advantage.
Skills & Attributes:
A clear criminal record.
A strong commitment to education and the personal development of students.
Ability to manage classroom dynamics and create a productive learning environment.
Collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to school activities beyond the classroom.
