Job Purpose
To envision, lead and develop fit for purpose, integrated end-to-end technical solutions across multiple technologies for the organization, through inspirational technical leadership and visionary long-term thinking. Provide leadership across multiple initiatives guiding engineering lead practitioners to achieve product / programme alignment.
The responsibility of the Engineering Lead is to, amongst others:
Craft end-to-end solution designs taking into consideration: people, technology, systems and data – driving for improved efficiency, automation, and client focus.
Understand and align solution delivery with the overall organization’s business strategy
Analyse problems and formulate end-to-end solutions based on the organization’s software architectures.
Deliver technical leadership into the organization ensuring the correct approaches are followed.
Evangelize the adoption of modern and sustainable designs to continuously improve the IT landscape, building out a future focused portfolio.
Ensure designs are fit for purpose, balancing future focus against investment available and time to value.
Take proposed solutions through relevant governance forums and obtain acceptance for solutions from relevant stakeholders.
Flesh out designs and contribute to functional and non-functional requirements.
Support Engineering teams in resolving complex or high-impact incidents.
Work with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver the solutions, participating with infrastructure designs, lower-level designs, code reviews and troubleshooting.
Contribute to the Engineering Lead community through research, talks and active engagement
Job Related Experience
Previous experience and competencies expected of an Engineering Lead is as follows:
Experience in designing end to end software systems including security, integration and infrastructure design details.
A proven track record in decision making and project/product delivery accountability.
Strong technical acumen and software application architecture knowledge.
Software development experience and current skills in this regard
Experience troubleshooting in complex software solution environments.
Broad software development lifecycle experience including DevOps, agile and testing methodologies.
Technical design modelling and methods.
Strong financial background either fintech banking start-up or financial e-commerce. Engineering Lead is for the Security Tribe, candidate must have knowledge and experience in Security applications to work across the authorization, verification and authentication stack. To have exposure on biometrics, Identity Security, Authentication methods, IAM, Identity Governance and Authorization
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in either Information Systems, Informatics or Computer Science or Engineering (or equivalent work experience).
Minimum Experience Level
4 years or more in similar roles
10 years or more in IT industry
