We are currently in the process of recruiting for anEngineer-Technician
. This role is responsible for the performance of Roll On Ball Manufacturing and all associated support equipment.
Key Performance Areas (KPA)
Duties & Responsibilities
Overall Responsibilities
Ensuring expected production outputs are met consistently at OEE > 92% and meet OTIF targets with pre-emptive/proactive awareness and corrective action to downtime.
Ensure reject and scrap rate < 0.5%.
Plant layout and upgrades with strong focus on industrial automation.
Reliability principles implementation, application, and sustainable improvement:
Unscheduled downtime < 10%.
Equipment reliability > 90%.
Planned downtime accuracy > 90%.
Includes Services, Production, and Downstream Equipment.
Preventative Maintenance program operational.
Availability and maintaining of critical spares in a controlled area.
Safekeeping, good condition, and maintenance of tooling.
Compliance:
Production areas are brought to levels of compliance required for our industry w.r.t. GMP and QA aligned with ISO principles.
Provide gap analysis and plan to achieve compliance with clear indication of timelines and milestones with regular reporting on progress.
Provide plan on maintaining the compliance at expected levels.
Servicing and maintenance of equipment.
Manage subordinates (this could increase with growth).
Continuous Improvement:
Implementcontinuous improvementprocesses and regularly audit and report on successes and failures.
NCRs addressed timeously.
Team adheres to OHS disciplines and practices.
Work to set works instructions.
General Administration
Completing any documentation related to the manufacturing processes and as required by compliance requirements.
General Ad Hoc
Available to serve and support Bowler Plastics and its subsidiaries in any constructive way within his own capacity or that of the Engineering and maintenance teams. The duties may require traveling.
Work reasonable overtime in order to meet deadlines.
Technical / Maintenance
Member of Bowler Plastics Engineering and maintenance development team (ad hoc).
Troubleshoot (any general).
Provide technical support to the Roll On Ball Manufacturing department by facilitating efficient performance with other departments (e.g., Toolroom, Maintenance Department) or any other person/organization.
Management
Lead, manage, and motivate subordinates in line with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
Bachelor in Engineering or Technician/Mechanician (Mech/Elec/Computer/Automation).
Skills / Competencies / Aptitudes
Sound technical aptitude with mechanical and electrical skill with specific passion for industrial automation and information technology.
Sound engineering background (all round mechanical, electrical, and hydraulics).
ISO 9001:2000 knowledge and mindset.
People and interpersonal skills.
Organizational and time management skills.
