Job Summary:
A leading engineering services company in Saudi Arabia is seeking a highly experienced Instrumentation and Control Engineer to design, implement, and maintain advanced control systems for Oil & Gas facilities. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of process control, safety systems, and field instrumentation, ensuring smooth and safe operations in compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Development:
Develop and configure control systems (PLC, DCS, SCADA) for upstream, midstream, and downstream Oil & Gas operations.
Design and specify field instrumentation, including flow, pressure, level, and temperature sensors for critical applications.
System Integration & Testing:
Integrate control and safety systems with existing plant processes.
Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and commissioning of systems in Oil & Gas facilities.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot control systems to ensure uptime and process efficiency.
Analyze system performance and conduct root cause analysis to prevent unplanned shutdowns.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure compliance with international standards such as ISA, IEC, API, and Saudi Aramco standards.
Perform HAZOP, SIL, and LOPA studies to enhance system safety and reliability.
Project Management:
Oversee the instrumentation and control aspects of Oil & Gas projects from concept to commissioning.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project deadlines and budgets are met.
Documentation & Reporting:
Prepare P&IDs, loop diagrams, control narratives, and technical documentation.
Maintain accurate records of system configurations, changes, and maintenance history.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Control Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in Instrumentation & Control systems within the Oil & Gas sector.
Technical Proficiency:
Strong expertise in PLCs, DCS, SCADA, and SIS (Safety Instrumented Systems).
Familiarity with process control, emergency shutdown (ESD) systems, and fire & gas systems.
Experience with field instrumentation, analyzers, and valves used in Oil & Gas operations.
Certifications: ISA, TUV Functional Safety, or equivalent certifications preferred.
Software Knowledge: Proficiency in AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar design tools for control system layouts.
