Engine Assembler
to join their Kimberley branch. The company specialises in heavy-duty diesel engines serving the mining and industrial sectors across Southern Africa.
Position Summary:
The Engine Assembler plays a critical role in the final stages of the engine remanufacturing process. This role involves assembling various engine types, with a strong focus on heavy-duty diesel engines, ensuring the highest standards of quality, performance, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble a range of engines, with a primary focus on heavy-duty diesel engines used in mining and industrial applications
Work independently within a team structure, adhering to strict deadlines and quality standards
Perform inspections on all components prior to assembly to verify accuracy and quality
Troubleshoot, test, and verify engine performance on the dynamo meter as the final quality control stage
Collaborate with project coordinators and technicians to determine the scope of work and provide detailed technical reports for customer quotations
Identify necessary parts and initiate order requests to ensure the timely completion of jobs
Minimum Requirements:
N2 Certificate with trade-related subjects or a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a qualified Artisan
Trade Test Certificate in Diesel Mechanics, Automotive Machining, or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience in diesel engine assembly
Proficient in both English and Afrikaans (verbal and written)
Experience working on Deutz, Cummins, John Deere, Perkins, and CAT engines
Must reside in Kimberley or be willing to relocate
Willing to work overtime as required by operations
