Responsibilities
- Effective maintenance of plant electrical equipment with a reliability mindset
- Scheduled maintenance (preventive and safety schedules)
- Breakdown maintenance
- Installation of electrical equipment and assistance on projects where required
- Adherence to health and safety rules at all times
- Commitment and compliance to the requirements of ISO, HACCP, 20 Keys, Astral Code of Ethics and any other company management systems
Qualifications
- A qualified Electrician with a minimum N3 certificate
- Completed apprenticeship with a Trade Test Certificate
- A minimum of 3 years maintenance experience in a production environment
- Have a basic knowledge of PLC systems
- The ideal candidate should preferably reside in or around the Paarl area or willing to relocate
- A wireman’s licence would be advantageous
- Be pro-active and able to use own initiative
- Previous experience in an animal feed manufacturing plant would be an advantage
- Must be prepared to work overtime and standby as required
- Must have own transport
- Personal and professional integrity
- Work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to progress in a multi-skilled environment and a willingness to learn
