Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and qualified Electrical Technician tojoin our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance in an industrial or mining environment. This role is critical in minimizing downtime and maintaining operational safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance and Repairs
Conduct routine maintenance, fault-finding, and repairs on electrical equipment, including motors, switch gear, transformers, and control systems.
Diagnose and resolve electrical faults in a timely and efficient manner.
Ensure compliance with electrical standards and specifications during repairs.
Installation and Commissioning
Install and commission new electrical systems, equipment, and components.
Perform wiring, cabling, and connections in accordance with technical drawings and specifications.
Test and calibrate equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving
Use diagnostictools and equipmentto identify issues in electrical systems.
Implement corrective actions to resolve electrical faults and prevent recurrence.
Safety and Compliance
Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations while performing electrical work.
Conduct risk assessments and ensure safe work practices.
Participate in safety audits and inspections.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, fault reports, and equipment performance.
Generate technical reports and recommend system improvements.
Qualifications and Experience
Educational Background:
Diploma or N6 in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Experience:
3-5 years of experience as an Electrical Technician in an industrial or mining environment.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including AC/DC motors, PLCs, VSDs, and control systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
Proficiency with diagnostic tools, test instruments, and measurement devices.
