We’re looking for an experienced Duty Manager to join a high-end boutique hospitality property in Cape Town.
You’ll take responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of the property during your shift, ensuring guests receive a consistently high level of service while supporting the wider operational team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Oversee daily front-of-house and guest service operations
- Manage guest arrivals, departures, billing and general enquiries
- Build relationships with guests and create a personalised experience
- Handle guest concerns professionally and resolve issues quickly
- Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance and food & beverage teams
- Conduct room and property inspections to maintain presentation standards
- Support and supervise team members throughout the shift
- Delegate responsibilities and ensure tasks are completed
- Assist with staff training, feedback and performance standards
- Maintain operational, health and safety procedures
- Complete basic reporting and shift-related administration
- Identify opportunities to improve service and operational efficiency
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a Duty Manager, Assistant Hotel Manager, Front Office Manager or similar hospitality role
- Experience within a boutique hotel, luxury hotel, guesthouse or premium hospitality environment
- Strong front-of-house and guest relations experience
- Previous team leadership or supervisory experience
- Comfortable overseeing multiple operational areas
- Confident handling guest complaints and unexpected operational issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and high service standards
- Willing and able to work hospitality shifts
