Position: DRP Analyst (Demand Replenishment Planning)

Location: Brakpan

THE JOB AT A GLANCE:

A Distribution Analyst’s main responsibility is the creation of transportation loads to move stock from the Primary warehouse to Secondary warehouses. This is done to meet projected customer demand at the lowest possible cost whilst maintaining the targeted customer service level. Included in the distribution planner’s role is to ensure that service losses are understood and mitigated where possible and that stock is appropriately repositioned to prevent age-related losses and write-offs.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Distribution Load Planning:
Plan the movement of stock from the primary warehouse to the secondary warehouses based on the forecast and agreed planning parameters (min/max days cover, lead times, payloads, etc). Planning and Optimising mixed loads with other categories to ensure truck optimization where necessary. Communicate load plans with Trans nova planners.

Depot Inventory Management:
Responsible for stock availability ages in daily activities, monitoring orders versus stock on hand, GIT and service level. Fair share where supply is limited. Analyse service losses – ensuring that any future losses are mitigated timely. Stock repositioning across the network ensuring low risk of stock ageing and service level losses at other depots due to incorrect mix.

Communication during the run-out of discontinued items with sales and supply planning team ensuring minimal write-off.

Aged Stock:
Stock age analysis; repositioning stock within the network or communicating with the Customer Marketing team ensuring prevention of stock write-offs.

Master Data Management:
Set up and maintain parameters in DRP planning systems (Proteus/Oracle/Barnton).

The analyst will also provide support to the DRP Manager by providing inputs related to daily/weekly or monthly reporting metrics and conducting other types of analytics required to create necessary reports.

Experience

Function – 5 years’ experience Supply Chain Planning

Industry – FMCG experience preferred

System – Experience on ERP tools required. Barnton & Proteus experience advantageous

Excel – Advanced skills preferred

Qualifications – Supply Chain Degree/Diploma, CPIM would be advantageous
