A leading engineering environment is looking for a technically minded Automation Draughtsman to join their team. This role is ideal for a Junior Designer with 1–2 years’ experience who is passionate about engineering design, automation and precision technical drawings. Duties & Responsibilities
- Produce technical drawings and design work aligned with sound engineering principles
- Prepare jig, machine parts and continuous improvement drawing sets
- Perform drawing revisions, corrections and documentation updates
- Calculate and establish critical dimensions and component relationships
- Prepare drawing packs for manufacturing
- Assist with design improvements to ensure reliability and non-failure
- Conduct basic failure investigations and problem detection
- Support testing and validation of jigs and components
- Ensure designs comply with engineering standards and best practices
- Compile technical reports and maintain accurate drawing records
Desired Experience & Qualification
Grade 12 with a Tertiary Qualification in Draughting
✔ 1–2 years’ experience as a Designer / Draughtsman
✔ Code 8 Driver’s License
✔ Strong technical draughting and CAD skills
✔ Solid mathematical and engineering understanding
✔ Proficiency in MS Office and drafting/design software
✔ CREO Parametric experience advantageous
Ideal Qualification
✔ National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
