About the Role
A prestigious five-star hotel located in the heart of Cape Town is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Director of Housekeeping to lead its housekeeping department. This leadership position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of housekeeping operations to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction throughout the property.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the entire housekeeping team, including room attendants, public area attendants, and laundry staff.
Develop and implement housekeeping policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house to ensure impeccable cleanliness and maintenance.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
Prepare departmental budgets and manage inventory and expenses effectively.
Train, mentor, and motivate staff to maintain excellence in service and operations.
Coordinate with other departments, particularly Front Office and Engineering, to ensure seamless guest experiences.
Address guest feedback promptly and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Monitor and optimize the use of cleaning supplies and equipment.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior housekeeping role within a luxury hotel environment.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
Solid understanding of housekeeping technology and systems.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities.
Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred.
