Task Description
Duties
Under the overall supervision of the RCO Team Leader and direct supervision of the Communications Officer, the Digital Media and Content Officer will perform the following duties:

Digital Content Creation
- Develop engaging content for social media platforms including Facebook, X, and YouTube
- Develop content and digital assets for campaigns, international days, events, and advocacy initiatives
- Contribute to the design of graphics, posters, banners, infographics, presentation materials, and other digital communication products
Multimedia Production
MultimediaSoftware
- Capture high-quality photos and videos during UN events, field missions, campaigns, and stakeholder engagements
- Edit videos, reels, short clips, and graphics for digital platforms
- Support live coverage of events through social media updates and multimedia storytelling
- Contribute to drafting social media captions, web stories, newsletters, and other publications
Social Media and Digital Platform Management
- Monitor social media trends, audience engagement, and analytics
- Schedule and publish content across digital platforms
- Track performance of digital campaigns and prepare simple analytics reports
Administrative and Coordination Support
- Support meetings, reporting, and coordination with UN agencies and partners on communication-related activities
- Assist with logistical and communication preparations for events and campaigns
- Perform other communications-related duties as assigned by the supervisor
- Carry out any other related tasks as required
Expected Results
As An Active Team Member, The Digital Media And Content Officer Will Provide Efficient, Timely, And High-quality Support To The Resident Coordinator’s Office, Including
- Strengthened digital presence and audience reach through coordinated campaigns and performance monitoring
- High-quality visual and multimedia coverage of UN activities for communication and knowledge-sharing
- Development and maintenance of content calendars, campaign plans, and engagement reports
- Enhanced public awareness of UN priorities and SDG programmes through innovative storytelling
- Timely production of communication materials such as graphics, videos, toolkits, newsletters, and web content
- Integration of Age, Gender, and Diversity (AGD) perspectives across all activities
Eligibility Criteria
Age
18 – 80
Nationality
Applicants must be nationals, legal residents, or individuals with refugee status in Lesotho.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
Education
Bachelor’s Degree In
- Graphic Design
- Multimedia Design
- Digital Media
- Visual Communications
- Communications
- Journalism
- Public Relations
- Marketing
- Or a related field
Languages
- English – Working knowledge (required)
- Sesotho – Fluent (required)

Skills And Experience
- At least 3 years of experience in digital communications, graphic design, multimedia production, or social media content creation
- Proficiency in tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro), CapCut, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, or similar platforms
- Photography, videography, and video editing skills are desirable

Living Conditions
As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging their own housing and living essentials.
Volunteer Entitlements
- Monthly Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA): LSL 16,573.74
- Once-off entry lump sum of USD 350 at the start of the assignment
