Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role located in the City of Johannesburg for a Digital Engineer. The successful applicant will design, develop and maintain software solutions, ultimately ensuring that MIP's clients operate as efficiently as possible while delivering an exceptional experience to their employees and end clients.
As a Digital Engineer at MIP, you'll work end-to-end on client engagements- from diagnosing inefficiencies in how customers are served, to designing better processes, to specifying and configuring the technology solutions that make those improvements real. You don't hand off. You follow through- from diagnosis to delivery. The role requires innovation and adaptability to address technical challenges effectively.
Day-to-day tasks include:
- CX and Efficiency Assessments: Map and assess current-state customer journeys and operational processes using service design and industrial engineering analysis techniques
- Future State Process & Experience Design: Design future-state processes and workflows that are efficient, compliant, and genuinely better for end users
- Technology Solution Design and Specification: Produce illustrative mock-ups to ensure early alignment between business users and technology teams. Translate designs into detailed technology specifications
- Platform Configuration: Configure MIP's Customer Engagement Platform to bring the solution to life
- Innovation: Drive innovation of our core platform by leveraging your experience, client feedback and research into new ideas
Qualifications
- BEng Industrial Engineering
- BCom (Economics, IS, Business Analysis, or related)
Skills
- Experience in industrial engineering principles and analysis
- Experience in business process mapping; CX design; service design and business analysis
- Analytical and structured researcher
- A strategic, big picture thinker that can translate this thinking into execution
- Enjoys figuring out why things aren't working
- A strong communicator who can hold a room with a client and write a clean specification
- Someone who wants to deliver, not just advise
