Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, answering phones, and providing a positive first impression of our service department
- Accurately document truck/trailer/machine equipment issues, repair needs, and customer concerns using Fullbay software and service writing tools
- Opening, updating, and closing service orders
- Writing clear and accurate service descriptions
- Coordinating with diesel technicians and customers on repair status
- Communicate clearly with technicians about diagnostics, repairs, and estimated timeframes to ensure efficient workflow
- Prepare detailed estimates for diesel engine repairs, collision repairs, and routine maintenance using Fullbay Software.
- Coordinate with customers on service progress, explain repair procedures, and answer technical questions related to automotive diagnostics and mechanical components
- Preparing invoices and reviewing completed work orders
- Maintaining organized service records
- Assisting with scheduling and overall shop workflow
Skills
- Proven experience as a Service Writer
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, air brakes, suspensions, shocks & struts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Qualifications
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Dependable and able to work independently
- Good computer and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced shop environment
- Basic knowledge of diesel trucks, trailers, parts, and repairs preferred
- Previous service writer or automotive/diesel shop experience is plus
