Role Overview

The Design Lead drives the visual and creative direction of the company, ensuring design brings the brand to life in a way that drives engagement, clicks, and conversions. This role combines creative excellence with operational strength, requiring someone who can inspire great work and ensure it gets delivered efficiently, on time, and to a high standard. Acting as a central anchor for organization, prioritization, and stakeholder management, the Design Lead will oversee the design team, manage workflows, and ensure briefs are clear and structured using Asana as the central engine.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain high design standards, visual consistency, and overall creative direction across all brand and marketing output
  • Lead, mentor, review, and guide work from the design team to maintain quality, impact, and commercial effectiveness
  • Manage the full design workflow, project tracking, deadlines, and team capacity within Asana to increase efficiency and reduce bottlenecks
  • Act as the key point of contact between Design and Marketing, ensuring all incoming briefs are clear, complete, and fit for purpose
  • Align stakeholders on priorities, timelines, and expectations while constructively pushing back when briefs lack necessary detail or strategic direction
  • Allocate work effectively based on skill set, workload, and deadlines while establishing clear accountability for delivery
  • Contribute hands-on to design execution for key projects or high-priority work when needed

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in visual, brand, or marketing design
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or managing a design team
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality, commercially effective design work
  • Proven ability to manage workflows, planning, and processes, ideally using Asana or similar tools
  • Proficiency with tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Figma
  • Exceptional organization, prioritization, and project management skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to manage expectations and improve briefing processes
  • Proactive mindset with a strong foundation in typography, layout, color, and visual systems
