Overview
DESIGN & GROWTH COORDINATOR OR GROWTH & BRAND MANAGER Jobs in Somerset West, Western Cape, South Africa at Harcourts Platinum
Title: DESIGN & GROWTH COORDINATOR OR GROWTH & BRAND MANAGER
Company: Harcourts Platinum
Location: Somerset West, Western Cape, South Africa
One appointment | Coordinator or Manager Level | Somerset West | Full-time, Office-based
Harcourts Platinum is looking for a talented marketing professional who combines strong visual judgement with practical marketing execution and a genuine interest in business growth.
We are making one appointment, but the level of the role will depend on the experience and demonstrated capability of the successful candidate:
Design & Growth Coordinator — a hands-on, design-led role owning brand execution, campaigns and digital growth, operating under the direction of a senior Visual Content & Brand Lead.
Growth & Brand Manager — a senior, hands-on role responsible for brand direction, growth strategy, marketing leadership and team performance, operating as the most senior marketing person in the business and directly leading a Visual Content Creator and Marketing Administrator.
The position is based at our Somerset West office and forms part of a close-knit marketing team of two to three people supporting one of the Helderberg’s leading real estate businesses.
Harcourts Platinum is an owner-led agency, not a large corporate marketing department. The successful person must be comfortable combining strategic thinking with practical execution, working within realistic budgets and contributing wherever the team needs support.
The Opportunity
Harcourts Platinum is strengthening its marketing capability as we build a more distinctive, strategic and growth-focused brand. We need someone who can help us:
• Produce premium property, agent and company marketing
• Strengthen the consistency and impact of our brand
• Build campaigns that generate seller, landlord and client opportunities
• Improve our website content, social media, email and database marketing
• Turn business strategy into practical marketing activity
• Work closely with our visual content and marketing administration team
• Provide agents with responsive, commercially useful marketing support
This is not a remote or advisory position. It is a full-time, office-based opportunity for someone who enjoys turning ideas into completed work.
Appointment Pathway 1 — Design & Growth Coordinator
This pathway operates under the direction of the Visual Content & Brand Lead, who owns the brand and leads the team. The Coordinator owns the execution layer — design production, digital growth, SEO, database and in-office coordination. This may suit an ambitious designer or marketing coordinator who is already strong in day-to-day design and wants to develop broader digital marketing and growth capability.
Key Responsibilities
• Design premium property, agent and company marketing material to brand standard
• Produce social media assets, presentations, brochures, advertisements, email campaigns and other digital content
• Apply and protect the Harcourts Platinum visual identity across all output — working within brand standards set by the Visual Content & Brand Lead
• Own SEO execution using SurferSEO (or similar) — keyword tracking, on-page optimisation, content briefs and performance reporting
• Manage the website, email marketing workflows and database campaigns
• Produce and distribute suburb and market reports as part of a structured, AI-assisted newsletter workflow
• Repurpose photography and video into effective marketing content across platforms
• Coordinate briefs, deadlines, approvals and final delivery
• Act as the in-office anchor when the Visual Content & Brand Lead is on location shoots
• Monitor campaign performance and identify opportunities to improve results
• Support the Marketing & Brand Administrator’s template customisation and social posting workflow
What We Would Expect
• Strong graphic design ability, supported by a portfolio of professional work
• Good typography, layout and visual judgement — fast, accurate and works to brief without hand-holding
• Confidence using Adobe Creative Suite and Canva at a production level
• Practical social media and digital content experience
• Willingness to develop or apply SEO capability — SurferSEO experience is an advantage; a systematic mindset and willingness to learn is the requirement
• Strong written English and attention to detail
• Good organisation, responsiveness and follow-through
• A collaborative, service-oriented approach — comfortable taking direction and executing to a defined standard
• A willingness to contribute beyond a narrow job description
Appointment Pathway 2 — Growth & Brand Manager
This pathway operates as the most senior marketing person in the business, directly leading a Visual Content Creator and Marketing Administrator. The Manager owns the brand, sets the strategy, owns 75% of design production, and ensures everything the business puts into the market reflects a consistent, premium standard. This may suit an experienced marketing professional who can combine brand leadership, growth strategy, creative direction, hands-on design production and people management within a small-business environment. The successful candidate must be willing to remain close to the work — this is not a large-department management position in which all execution is delegated.
Key Responsibilities
• Translate company strategy into a clear marketing and growth plan — and own its implementation
• Own and strengthen the Harcourts Platinum brand across every client touchpoint
• Lead, support and develop a small marketing team of two to three people — setting priorities, allocating work and managing the team’s workflow
• Own the bulk of design production — producing premium property, agent and company marketing material personally alongside directing the Visual Content Creator’s output
• Provide creative direction and maintain high brand standards across all output
• Build lead-generation campaigns for sellers, landlords and other priority audiences
• Oversee website content, SEO, social media, email and database marketing — and own the results
• Use performance data to evaluate campaigns and improve outcomes over time
• Manage marketing suppliers, budgets and delivery standards
• Work closely with company leadership and sales agents
• Ensure marketing activity supports listings, relationships and long-term business growth
• Produce, refine or complete priority marketing work personally when team capacity requires it
• Own the suburb and market report workflow — system, structure and quality
What We Would Expect
• Demonstrated experience owning or managing a brand
• Experience developing and implementing marketing strategy that produced measurable commercial results
• Strong creative judgement and the ability to direct design and content output
• Hands-on design proficiency — confident using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite to produce marketing assets personally, not just direct others to do so
• People leadership or team management experience in a small-business or agency environment
• Confidence setting priorities and managing competing demands across a small team
• Strong written communication and presentation skills
• Solid knowledge of digital marketing — websites, SEO, email marketing, CRM and analytics
• A practical, hands-on attitude — you produce as well as direct
• Prior experience with SurferSEO, Semrush or equivalent SEO tools is an advantage
• Please apply at this level only if you are seeking a hands-on leadership role within a small, owner-led business — not a large corporate marketing structure
The Person We Are Looking For
At either level, you should be:
• Creative, commercially aware and highly organised
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving service environment
• Willing to contribute beyond a narrow job description
• Able to balance quality with deadlines
• Confident receiving feedback and refining work
• Interested in property, people, storytelling and business growth
• Collaborative, dependable and respectful
You should also identify with our values:
People First
Putting colleagues, clients and the team ahead of personal preference, even when that is the harder choice.
Do the Right Thing
Respecting different backgrounds and viewpoints, acting with integrity and resolving problems directly and privately rather than allowing them to fester.
Be Courageous
Pursuing better outcomes, higher standards and personal growth, even when that requires stepping outside your comfort zone.
Fun and Laughter
Enjoying the work, contributing positively to the team and keeping perspective when things become difficult.
