Overview
Hire Resolve’s client in Kwa Zulu-Natal is currently seeking a skilled Design Engineer/Technologist to join their team. As a Design Engineer/Technologist, you will be responsible for designing and managing engineering projects for various clients. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
Strong technical skills and contribute to Conceptual to Detailed Design, Documentation and Contract Administration of services for civil infrastructure projects including but not limited to:
Earthworks, Roads, Stormwater Reticulation, Sewer Reticulation, Water Reticulation
Ensure all designs are checked and approved by the relevant manager (professionally registered) prior to forwarding to the relevant client and contractor
The preparation of feasibility reports
Attending meetings with clients and stakeholders as and when required
Assist with the implementation of medium to large sized projects within technical standards, quality, budgets, and time frames. This includes the technical support to senior members of the Technical teams.
Ensure effectiveness, quality, and profitability of completed projects including project follow-up, to monitor project deliverables and client satisfaction levels.
Site supervision as and when required
Complete any other work related to projects within the Department
Ability to use the following software proficiently:
AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, AutoCAD Civil 3D , Bill Software
Contribute to the preparation of project reports and develop proficiency in technical report writing
Deliver high quality civil engineering design, drafting and reports in an efficient and effective manner
A working understanding of project finances and project budgets for medium to large scale projects.
Requirements:
Completed minimum BTech or .
Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (Ms Word, MS Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint)
No less than 4 years’ experience in a similar position within a Consulting Engineering firm (pref)
Working knowledge of drawing and design packages
AutoCAD Civil 3D experience essential
Well presented, articulate, assertive, and confident individual
Mature and professional demeanour
The ability to work independently as well as support a team of Professionals
Good time management skills
Able to contribute positively as part of a team, helping out with various tasks as required
