MAINPURPOSEOF JOB
To support the Nursing Manager in leading and coordinating safe, quality patient care.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
Support the Nursing Manager to achieve quality patient care in line with the hospital operational goals and objectives
Manage patient risks to achievepatient safetyin line with specified clinical outcomes
Ensure a positive patient experience in line with corporate benchmarks
Ensure optimal utilisation of a competent andengaged workforceand other resources in line with the relevant company guidelines
Lead and manage direct reports
Establish and manage key stakeholder relationships to achieve integrated patient care and positive clinical outcomes
REQUIRED EDUCATION
ESSENTIAL
EDUCATION:Degree/diploma in nursing, Appropriateleadership/management qualification
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:5 years experience in a supervisory position, e.g. Unit Manager
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:2 – 3 years experience in a supervisory position within a specialised unit
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Infectionpreventionand control
Knowledge ofcontinuous improvementandquality assurancemethodologies
Productivity management in nursing
Clinical risk management
Nursing functional knowledge
Knowledge and experience in auditing and accreditation processes
Human resource processes including employee relations
