JobPurpose:The Department of the Premier, Western Cape Government has anexcitingopportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to manage and conduct forensic investigations.

Minimum Requirements:

A 3-year B-Degree (or higher qualification) in the field of Forensics/ Commerce/ Law/ Auditing.

A minimum of 6 years functional (forensic investigations) experience or a minimum of 3 years management experience in conducting forensic investigations in a forensic services/ commercial crime environment.

A valid code B driving licence.

Recommendations:

Experience in forensic investigations within the public sector.

Qualification of

B.Com/Honours in Forensic Accountancy.

Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or Certified Forensic Practitioner (CFP).

Key Performance Areas:

Planning and execution of forensic investigations.

Conduct investigations by means of thorough fact-finding and evidence retrieval within allocated time frames.

Project managing multiple investigations at the same time, prioritising each investigation based on priority andquality assuranceat all stages of the investigation.

Manage the team of investigators, providing clear guidance and mentoring.

Draft and/or review factual reports containing appropriate findings and recommendations and follow up on recommendations made.

Testify in disciplinary hearings and criminal trials.

Perform fraudpreventionand detection functions.

Develop and maintain professional relationships with all stakeholders.

Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledge of national, provincial, and departmental legislation, policies, and procedures; PFMA.

Communication(written and verbal).

Well-developed analytical,problem-solving, and fact-finding skills.

Proven computer literacy.

Good interviewing skills and ability to take statements during investigations.

The ability to develop and maintain networks.

Factual and legal analysis skills/abilities.

Planning, organizing, and people management skills.

Remuneration:

All-inclusivesalary package of R849 702 per annum (Salary Level 11). Note on remuneration:
Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS), and contract positions areinclusiveof all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc.

Notes:

Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting. Candidates will be required to do practical assessments and attend interviews on a date and time determined by the department. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
