Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all dental equipment is functioning properly according to infection prevention management protocols.
- Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while adhering to dental x-ray safety standards.
- Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Epic, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and medical coding.
- Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency during procedures.
- Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
- Support infection control practices by following aseptic techniques and dental sterilization procedures diligently.
