Duties
- Prepare and assemble deli food items including slicing meats, cheeses, and preparing salads or sandwiches with precision and care.
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process sales transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Manage food service customer orders from start to finish, ensuring timely delivery and satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized workspace in compliance with food safety standards, including proper handling of food products.
- Assist customers with product selection, upselling additional items to enhance their shopping experience.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including slicers, ovens, refrigerators, and other food preparation tools.
- Uphold sanitation standards through regular cleaning routines, ensuring a safe environment for both staff and customers.
- Support retail sales transactions by providing friendly service and addressing customer inquiries promptly.
- Contribute to a team-oriented atmosphere by collaborating with colleagues to meet daily goals and maintain store standards.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation or food service environments such as quick service restaurants or cafes is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is preferred; willingness to learn on the job is essential.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and the ability to upsell products effectively.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and accurate transaction processing.
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques.
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely while maintaining a clean workspace.
- Previous retail sales experience or cashiering background is a plus but not required; training will be provided.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays as needed.
