Position Summary
The Deburring Technician is responsible for removing burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections from precision medical and aerospace components using motorized hand tools and other finishing equipment. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to quality standards, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment. Additional responsibilities may include part marking, passivation, packaging, and shipping support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deburr medical and aerospace components using motorized hand tools and finishing equipment.
- Ability to identify burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections while maintaining part dimensions and integrity.
- Inspect parts during and after deburring to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, tools, and equipment.
- Perform passivation processes in accordance with established procedures.
- Mark and identify parts using laser and dot peen equipment.
- Package finished products for shipment.
- Prepare and process shipments using UPS and FedEx systems.
- Maintain wash tanks and related equipment as required.
- Follow all company quality, safety, and operational procedures.
- Support other departments and perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precision work.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to use hand tools and work safely around manufacturing equipment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous deburring, polishing, finishing, machining, or manufacturing experience.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, or precision measuring equipment.
- Familiarity with aerospace, medical device, or precision manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of OSHA and workplace safety practices.
Work Environment
- A fast paced environment with frequent movement throughout the production floor.
- Exposure to seasonal temperature changes, moderate noise levels, and machinery in operation.
- Regular use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
- Standing, walking, and moving throughout the production floor during the shift.
- Collaboration with production teams, machine operators, and supervisors to support workflow and meet production goals.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
