About the Company

The BYD Dealer Marketing Manager is responsible for driving consistent, high-quality marketing execution across the BYD dealer network in alignment with BYD South Africa’s national marketing and brand strategy. This role is critical to scaling BYD volumes, given the brand’s reliance on customer experiences, test drives, dealer-led events, and new-energy education. The role ensures that dealers effectively implement BYD-approved marketing programmes, deliver compliant and impactful events, manage and report leads accurately, and execute customer engagements that reinforce BYD’s leadership in New Energy Vehicles (NEVs).

About the Role

The BYD Dealer Marketing Manager is responsible for driving consistent, high-quality marketing execution across the BYD dealer network in alignment with BYD South Africa’s national marketing and brand strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Dealer Marketing Strategy Execution
  • Act as the primary liaison between BYD SA Marketing and the dealer network on all dealer-level marketing initiatives.
  • Translate national BYD marketing strategies into clear, executable dealer programmes.
  • Ensure dealer marketing activities are fully aligned to BYD brand guidelines, NEV messaging, and customer experience standards.
  • Support dealer openings, local campaigns, launches, and regional activations.
  • Dealer Events & Experiential Marketing
  • Own the dealer events framework, recognising that BYD relies strongly on test drives, experiential marketing, and education-based events to drive awareness and consideration.
  • Support dealers in planning, executing, and optimising dealer weekend events (typically two events per month per dealer).
  • Provide guidance on:
  • Event concepts and formats
  • Test-drive execution and flow
  • EV/NEV education experiences
  • Audience targeting and lead capture
  • Ensure all events comply with BYD brand, marketing, and event standards.
  • Dealer Event Compliance & Subsidy Management
  • Define and manage BYD Dealer Event Standards.
  • Assess whether dealer events meet the required standards for BYD subsidy eligibility.
  • Manage the BYD SA event cost subsidy programme, including:
  • Dealer briefing and education on qualifying criteria
  • Event pre-approval processes (where required)
  • Post-event verification and compliance checks
  • Coordinate and manage the dealer claims process from submission to approval.
  • Ensure all approved claims are processed and paid timeously in conjunction with Finance.
  • Dealer Leads Management & Reporting
  • Ensure all dealers have a robust leads management process in place, particularly for:
  • Test drive leads
  • Event-generated leads
  • Digital and walk-in leads
  • Work with dealers to ensure leads are:
  • Captured accurately
  • Followed up within agreed SLAs
  • Properly coded (event, campaign, source)
  • Ensure that relevant leads and reporting data are fed back to BYD South Africa accurately and consistently.
  • Monitor dealer compliance and performance relating to leads handling.
  • Administration & Coordination
  • Act as the central coordinator for all dealer marketing and event-related administration.
  • Maintain:
  • Event calendars
  • Event approvals
  • Claims trackers
  • Dealer compliance records
  • Prepare regular management reports on:
  • Dealer event activity
  • Event compliance and quality
  • Subsidy utilisation
  • Lead volumes and conversion related to events
  • Continuously identify improvement opportunities within dealer marketing execution.
  • New Energy Brand Advocacy
  • Ensure dealer marketing and events strongly communicate BYD’s New Energy positioning, including:
  • EV and Plug-in Hybrid education
  • Range, charging, and technology storytelling
  • Sustainability and future mobility messaging
  • Support dealers in building consumer confidence around NEVs through experiential marketing and education-led events.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for BYD’s new-energy philosophy at dealer and customer level.
  • Qualifications

    • Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in:
    • Dealer marketing
    • Automotive retail marketing or
    • Experiential / event-led marketing environments
    • Strong hands-on events experience (planning, execution, supplier management).
    • Experience working with dealer networks or franchise environments is essential.
    • Exposure to EV / New Energy / Technology brands is highly advantageous.
