Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Deal Maker (SME Funding Specialist). The primary responsibilities include identifying funding opportunities, evaluating client needs, and structuring financial solutions that align with their business requirements. The successful candidate will build and maintain strong client relationships, ensure thorough assessment of financial applications, and collaborate with internal teams to process funding solutions efficiently. A proactive and data-driven approach to securing and facilitating business funding opportunities will be crucial to this role.
Qualifications
- Strong Analytical Skills to assess financial data, evaluate risks, and make informed recommendations for funding decisions.
- Expertise in Funding and Finance, with a deep understanding of Purchase Order Financing, Invoice Discounting, and other financial instruments.
- Excellent Communication skills to engage with clients, present complex financial information clearly, and maintain strong relationships.
- Experience in Investments and a solid knowledge of investment instruments and strategies are highly desired.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet deadlines effectively.
- Experience in SME funding and understanding of the South African financial regulatory environment is an advantage.
This is an entrepreneurial, 100% commission-only position. There is no cap on your
earnings—your income is directly tied to the volume and quality of the deals you bring to
the table.
Key Responsibilities
- Deal Origination: Proactively hunt and source new business opportunities within the
SME sector (turnover typically between R1M and R50M+).
- Network Building: Develop and maintain a referral engine by networking with
accountants, auditors, business consultants, and brokers.
- Financial Analysis: Perform a high-level sanity check on potential clients by
reviewing bank statements, management accounts, and VAT returns to ensure they
meet Alchimia’s funding criteria.
- Client Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for the
business owner, guiding them through the application, approval, and draw down
process.
- Negotiation & Closing: Master the art of the "close" by explaining the value of quick,
flexible capital over traditional, slow-moving bank loans.
Candidate Requirements
- The Hunter & Instinct: A proven track record in high-stakes sales or business
development (preferably in financial services, insurance, or real estate).
- Financial Literacy: Ability to interpret basic financial statements and understand the pain points of a business owner’s cash flow.
- Resilience: The mental toughness to handle and the tenacity to stay with a deal
until it crosses the finish line.
- Professionalism: High levels of integrity and discretion, as you will be handling
sensitive company data.
