Job Overview:
Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Storage Engineer to design, implement, and maintain scalable storage solutions that align with the organization’s evolving IT infrastructure needs. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SAN, NAS, and cloud storage systems, ensuring data integrity, security, and availability across all platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and manage robust storage infrastructure to meet business and operational requirements.
Monitor performance and health of storage systems, providing proactive capacity planning and optimisation.
Administer and support SAN, NAS, and cloud-based storage environments.
Ensure the security and integrity of stored data across all platforms.
Perform and manage data backup and recovery processes.
Optimize storage performance through tuning and resource management.
Maintain detailed and up-to-date documentation of storage systems, procedures, and configurations.
Collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams to execute storage-related projects and migrations.
Provide Level 2/3 support and troubleshoot complex storage-related issues.
Research, evaluate, and implement new storage technologies and best practices.
Automate repetitive storage administration tasks using scripts and automation tools.
Conduct regular audits of storage systems to ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Participate in disaster recovery planning, simulations, and testing to ensure system resilience.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years experience in a storage engineering or related IT infrastructure role.
Certifications in EMC, Net App, IBM, HP, Huawei, VMware, Hyper-V, or similar technologies are preferred.
Proven experience with storage protocols and technologies including SAN, NAS, iSCSI, FC, NFS, and SMB.
Familiarity with cloud storage platforms and virtualization technologies.
Proficiency with storage management tools and monitoring utilities.
