We are partnering with a leading, innovation-driven organisation within the insurance and risk solutions space to appoint a Data Scientist into a high-performing analytics function. This role is ideal for a technically strong individual who enjoys working with complex data, building scalable solutions, and delivering meaningful business insights.
You will play a key role in developing advanced analytics capabilities across a diverse portfolio of products and clients. The position focuses on leveraging data to drive strategic decision-making, enhance performance, and unlock new opportunities through predictive modelling and intelligent automation.
Working closely with both internal stakeholders and external partners, you will translate complex datasets into actionable insights while contributing to the evolution of a modern data ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and deploy predictive models and machine learning solutions
- Analyse large datasets to generate actionable business insights
- Support client and portfolio analytics, including performance tracking and benchmarking
- Develop automated reporting tools and scalable analytics solutions
- Work with SQL and Python to extract, transform, and analyse data
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and deliver on analytics opportunities
Job Experience and Skills Required:
Education:
- Degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, or similar)
Experience:
- 3–6 years’ experience in data science, analytics, or data engineering within a commercial environment
- Strong experience working with large datasets and delivering data-driven insights
- Proven ability to communicate complex findings to a range of stakeholders
Skills:
- Advanced SQL (essential)
- Strong Python skills for data analysis, automation, and modelling
- Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI or similar)
- Exposure to cloud-based analytics platforms (e.g. Databricks, Synapse, or equivalent) advantageous
- Familiarity with version control tools (e.g. Git) beneficial
