Are you a Data Scientist who enjoys solving real-world optimisation problems, rather than simply building models for the sake of modelling?
We’re looking for a Data Scientist / Supply Chain Modeller to join a data-driven team working on the optimisation and digital transformation of a large, complex supply chain.
This is an opportunity to combine Data Science, Operations Research, mathematical modelling and simulation to answer questions such as: Where should facilities be located? How should a network be structured? What happens if demand, capacity or distribution patterns change? And how can the overall supply chain operate more efficiently?
You’ll work closely with business, data and software teams to:
- Build, maintain and execute supply chain network models
- Conduct Greenfield analysis and multi-echelon optimisation
- Develop what-if scenarios and simulations
- Identify supply chain optimisation opportunities with measurable business value
- Perform sophisticated data preparation and analysis
- Apply predictive and descriptive modelling techniques
- Help turn analytical models into robust, scalable solutions
- Present findings and business cases to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
What we’re looking for:
- A degree in Operations Research, Mathematical Science, Engineering
- 3+ years’ experience in Data Analysis, Data Science or network modelling
- Experience within supply chain, logistics, retail or a project environment
- Strong mathematical modelling capabilities
- Python & SQL
- Experience with network optimisation software such as Optilogic / Cosmic Frog, Coupa / LLamasoft or similar
- Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills
