Role Overview
The Data Scientist will play a key role in analysing large datasets to extract meaningful insights, developing predictive models, and optimising data-driven strategies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Product, Engineering, and Compliance, to ensure data integrity, enhance analytics capabilities, and support strategic business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
● Develop and implement data models and algorithms to support business objectives.
● Analyse structured and unstructured data to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
● Work with engineering teams to improve data quality and integration across platforms.
● Design and maintain dashboards and reporting tools for internal stakeholders.
● Conduct A/B testing and statistical analysis to drive product and operational improvements.
● Ensure compliance with data governance policies and industry best practices.
● Collaborate with teams to enhance risk and fraud detection capabilities.
● Communicate complex data findings in a clear and actionable manner to non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
● 4+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or analytics.
● Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
● Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
● Hands-on experience with SQL and cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
● Solid understanding of statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and machine learning techniques.
● Knowledge of data privacy regulations and best practices in data security.
● Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
● Experience in the financial technology or payments industry.
● Familiarity with big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka.
● Exposure to AI/ML applications in fraud detection, risk assessment, or customer analytics.
