Role Overview:
The most exciting part of this dynamic role is the opportunity to bring Data Analytics, AI/ML solutions into the real world!
As a Data Scientist, you will play a key role in the success of our solution deployments at our customers. This entails a few different dimensions including customer production and operational processes understanding, manufacturing data interpretation, critical review and processing, and building fit for purpose data ingest, processing and analytics pipelines.
You will be responsible for building data representations of physical processes and running analytics and optimisation services against these models as part of the delivery of DataProphet’s award winning suite of solutions, leveraging the extensive tooling and framework built and designed by the DataProphet team.
Our products include a range of ML and AI techniques such as dimensionality reduction, clustering, time series modelling, and anomaly detection, among others, leveraging both established and cutting edge tools and techniques.
Roles and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Solution design:
Engage directly with manufacturing clients to understand operational challenges, data infrastructure and business goals.
Translate the client needs into use cases and technical solution designs.
Data engineering:
Identifying key data sources and guiding the configuration of data extraction systems.
Understanding the generated data and the physical process
Building data processing scripts to extract key aspects of the process and represent the flow of material through the production process.
Analytics:
Training and Evaluating models and performing qualitative and quantitative investigations.
Work with time series data to identify patterns, correlations or any relevant insight in assisting the customer to address their specified problem statements.
Communicating data exploration, analytics and modelling results to a customer audience
Project leadership:
Lead end-to-end workstreams in accordance to data science specific methodologies
Provide mentorship to junior data scientists and collaborate with service and software teams.
Contribute to scoping, proposal writing and client presentation.
Manufacturing context application:
Apply domain knowledge to ensure models, results and insights are aligned with real-world manufacturing systems and constraints.
Interpret and communicate findings in the context of Manufacturing KPI’s and continuous improvement objectives.
Operationalisation and monitoring:
Collaborate with software and DevOps teams to ensure scalability and robustness of deployed solutions.
Support deployment and maintenance of data pipelines and models in production environments.
Qualifications & Experience:
STEM Qualification: Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or similar degree.
Experience working with Python.
Experience using Linux systems.
Experience working in or with manufacturing or production related industries.
Principled and practical understanding of statistics and high level machine learning.
Experience working AWS and related services/products.
Knowledge of manufacturing improvement methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma, Lean, SPC)
