Paarden Eiland is currently seeking to appoint a CTP Operator with experience in a printing environment: To supply world-class quality plates on time to the press. To ensure optimal use of resources at maximum efficiency levels in a safe working environment.The successful incumbent will report to the Duty Manager.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Manage the digital workflow process of material received from clients.
Ensure quality standards are adhered to, together with accurate record keeping according to expected standards.
Perform troubleshooting and fault finding.
Adhere to all routine maintenance procedures on all CTP equipment.
Delivery of quality plates on time and in full to the Press Department.
Planning client material layout as required, and maintaining good quality standards of plates.
Ensure optimal utilization of CTP resources, including plates, developer and gum to minimize waste.
Execution of maintenance on all CTP equipment according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
Timeous submission of all reporting information to the Shift Leader.
Perform any other ad hoc tasks within the scope or context of the job as determined by your Line Manager.
Complete inspections to ensure pairing of publication is correct.
Effective communication and interaction between the department and clients relating to publication material.
Educational Requirements
Matric or equivalent
Electronic Origination Trade Certificate – Advantageous
Experience Requirements
3years’ experience within a similar position
Skills and Competencies
The ability to multi-task and to work independently under pressure
Good troubleshooting skills in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
Have a flair for applying practical engineering methods
Strong analysing and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively in a team
Must be able to work fast and accurately
Ability to understand written work instructions
Being medically fit for the working environment
Excellent time and attendance
