Job Summary
To support the team leader in containing arrears to a maximum level as contracted annually by visiting high risk accounts as identified and collating information, analysing and submitting recommendations.
Support the team leader in maintaining provisions within the budgeted target by acting timeously in the case of repossessions or restructuring accounts or where possible negotiating and regularizing additional suitable security.
Job Description
Portfolio Management
Achieve net cure rate of 110% per month in number and value (Excluding transfers to Asset Recovery Unit).
Arrear construct, consists of various targeted arrear percentages per risk category i.e. 1 payment arrears, 2 payment and 3 plus month buckets over the whole CAF book
Achieve overall CAF team impairment as it may be amended from time to time
Achieve a net reduction in arrears of 10% per month in number and value.
Ensure all accounts are timeously and effectively actioned within the current month (1payment/30dpd).
Contact customer within 5 (five) days of account appearing in your work queue
Action accounts subject to Business Rescue, when requested to by attending meetings, voting if agreeable to strategy adopted by bank and doing call reports
Achieve Team Collection targets.
Visit high value clients experiencing financial strain and investigate workouts.
During client visits walk the assets and do call reports based on discussions held with customer.
Send RMO (Risk Mitigation Officer) to visit customer only if that client is outside your jurisdiction and costs to visit not justifiable by exposure, alternatively make any effort to visit the customer.
Ensure contracts are cancelled where risk is eminent and/or when requested to do so by Team Leader or the High Exposure Committee.
Exercise leadership role and assist the Early-Stage Collector assigned to your Region
Put measures in place to improve the cure rate, reduce rolls and limit transfers to the Asset Recovery Unit.
Work with front end to remedy the causes of technical arrears.
Achieve overall CAF team impairment target of R130M (R10.83M per month) and/or as it may be amended from time to time.

Transfer to Asset Recovery Unit (ARU):
Legal files to contain all relevant information.
Complete WOR process upon hand over to ARU including loading of valuation, Suspending Interest, cancellation of debit orders and changing segment to Loss.
Mandates:
Adhere to Admin Mandate Policy
No accounts to appear in 3 plus payment arrear bucket unless signed off by Team Leader
Read and understand the CAF procedure manual
Staff Issues
Statutory training to be done timeously
All forms of leave availed of to be captured on ESS
Complete monthly gift and gratuity register
Submit log sheets in support of Travel Claims
No past due audit items
100% satisfactory internal audits
Adhere to Admin Mandate Policy
Adhere to Restructure Mandate Policy
People Management:
PD process to be followed [Health checks; PD discussions; Talent management; Performance Management.
Coaching on strategy and sampled accounts.
Leave programs to be put in place.

Processes/Procedures:
Expired deals listings to be actioned on a monthly basis
Default queues to be actioned
No accounts to appear in the no work queues
Actively manage milling accounts with a view to curing
Actively identify and action accounts for restructure
Notes on OCS to be comprehensive and clear in terms of reason for default, strategy and current status
Call reports to be retained for all visitations.
Minimum of 6 (six) visits per month to high value customers and walk the assets of doubtful customers.
AIRB Capturing to be done for all clients 3 payments or more in arrears and R7.5M TGE and greater.

Reporting and Meetings
Attend weekly meetings with Team leader.
Attend weekly staff meeting.
Bi- Monthly reporting in terms of top 20 arrear exposures.
Monthly reporting of 3 plus payment arrear accounts.
Monthly reporting to Regional Managers in respect of arrears position and trends.
Monthly reporting to Regional Managers in respect of impairments per Region.
Monthly DCFC to be completed signed and handed to the Portfolio Office.

Education and Experience Required
Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas in Business, Commerce and Management Studies.
Minimum of 4 years credit manager with collections experience.
Credit granting experience.
At least 5 years’ experience in banking or other financial services.
