Overview
We are recruiting a high‑calibre Credit Analyst to join a leading Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) team within the Mid‑Corporate segment. This role focuses on Resources and Project Finance, offering exposure to complex transactions, high‑value clients, and strategic credit decision‑making.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical credit capability, commercial judgement, and the confidence to engage senior stakeholders across business and risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess the creditworthiness of clients and counterparties in the Resources and Project Finance environment.
- Analyse financial statements, cash flows, capital structures, security, and repayment capacity.
- Prepare and present clear, well‑motivated credit submissions and recommendations for approval forums.
- Support prudent lending decisions aligned to internal risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to ongoing portfolio management, monitoring, and early risk identification.
- Collaborate with coverage, deal teams, and risk partners to support transaction execution and oversight.
Candidate Profile
- CA(SA) and/or CFA preferred.
- 3–6 years’ experience in credit risk within CIB or corporate banking.
- Strong financial modelling, analytical writing, and credit paper drafting skills.
- Exposure to mid‑corporates, structured lending, resources, infrastructure, or project finance advantageous.
- Ability to balance technical depth with commercial insight.
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement capability.
