Requirements:
Matric, or similar qualification
Proven experience as an estimator in a manufacturing industry
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Understanding of materials, production methods, and installation processes
Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; experience with estimating software is a plus
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
High attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyse project drawings, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates
Liaise with suppliers for up-to-date pricing on raw materials, equipment, and outsourced services
Prepare and submit quotations in a timely and professional manner
Collaborate with sales and project managers to understand client requirements and ensure alignment on pricing strategies
Monitor and update cost databases and estimation tools
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
Assist with tenders and RFQs, ensuring all documentation is completed and submitted correctly
Track project costs post-approval to ensure profitability and identify discrepancies
