Role Description The Cost and Reporting Manager is responsible for managing cost accounting, financial reporting, and performance analysis to support informed decision-making at Belgotex. This is a full-time on-site role based in Pietermaritzburg, working closely with finance, operations, and senior leadership to ensure accurate cost allocation, budgeting, and forecasting. Day-to-day duties include preparing and reviewing financial statements, overseeing cost control processes, analysing variances, and developing reports and dashboards that highlight key business metrics. The role also involves improving reporting frameworks, supporting audit and compliance requirements, and recommending cost optimisation initiatives while maintaining quality and operational efficiency. The manager is expected to mentor team members, contribute to continuous improvement of financial systems, and collaborate across departments to strengthen overall financial performance.
Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and provide clear, actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in finance and accounting, with experience in cost accounting and financial management within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and financial reporting in accordance with relevant standards and policies.
  • Solid understanding of general accounting principles and practices, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and internal controls.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CA, CIMA, ACCA) is advantageous.
  • Advanced Excel and ERP/financial systems skills, with the ability to build and maintain reports and dashboards.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities, including presenting financial information to non-financial audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work accurately under deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
