Short-term insurance concern is seeking a Corporate Portfolio Manager with commercial insurance experience to join their team.

Responsibilities:

The Corporate Portfolio Manager’s (CPM) main responsibilities will be to sell and promote the company’s products (as well as bespoke broker products) and services to our short-term insurance, corporate broker partners in Pretoria with an objective of achieving growth through set monthly targets and conversion rates.

The CPM must develop and maintain consistent organic growth within this portfolio as well as identify and unlock new business opportunities including books of transfers.

The CPM will serve as the main liaison between the company’s internal operational staff and the brokers, assisting with any internal problems throughout the departments within the business and complaints resolution naturally comes with the territory.

Full administrative support will be provided from the company’s head office in Johannesburg, whilst the CPM concentrates on building supportive relationships with brokers by assisting them in running profitable loss ratios and by ensuring efficient and convenient service delivery in line with the company’s brand promise.

Performance will be measured againstsales targets, conversion ratios, overall portfolio performance, new business loss ratios, overall portfolio loss ratios as well as the development and maintaining of professional partnerships.

The role will require traveling nationally from time to time. A valid driver’s license is essential, and it may be required for the CPM to be away from home for a couple of nights a month.

Requirements:

Grade 12

Higher Certificate in Short Term Insurance – NQF Level 5 or higher – essential

Advanced Certificate in Short Term Insurance – NQF 6 – highly advantageous

Successfully passed RE 5 (Representative Exam) – essential

Provide evidence of being on the FSCA Register (DOFA date) – essential

Advancedproduct knowledgeand application inrespectof all classes of insurance (Personal & Commercial Lines)

A minimum of 5 years commercial insurance experience – essential

A minimum of 5 years related Short-Term Insurance Sales experience working at an Insurer or Risk Carrier – essential

Knowledge and understanding of the corporate broking environment, current market trends within the industry, external factors that could impact the business, as well as a sound understanding of competitor product offerings
