As a Core Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining core network systems that support critical business functions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the network’s reliability, performance, and security. Your work will play a key role in supporting the company’s technological infrastructure and enabling the delivery of high-quality services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with onsite installations of network equipment and services.

Log and attend to support tickets using the internal ticketing tool, ensuring timely resolution.

Monitor the network’s performance and health via network monitoring tools, ensuring the highest levels of uptime and performance.

Troubleshoot network issues across multiple layers (L2, L3) and services, escalating when necessary.

Liaise and coordinate with 3rd party contractors and vendors for hardware/software support, installations, and troubleshooting.

Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and vendors to extend support and resolve issues efficiently.

Ensure proficiency in change management processes, planning and executing changes with a clear identification of risks and mitigation strategies, and documenting these in change records.

Deliver and promote the highest levels of client service across the business, ensuring customer satisfaction and resolution of their networking needs.

Responsible for setting up L2, L3, and VoIP services for customers, ensuring the services are tailored to their requirements.

Conduct thorough analysis of client IT infrastructure and provide detailed feedback to the Project Office for improvements or enhancements.

Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain firewall systems to ensure network security.

Design and configure routers and switches for optimal performance and efficiency.

Set up and configure client phone service profiles on the relevant VOIP platform for seamless communication.

Conduct quality testing on new and existing installations, ensuring that all systems are functional and meet performance standards.

Demonstrate proficiency in common communication protocols, including DHCP, NAT, VLANs, Spanning Tree, and Routing.

Configure and troubleshoot MPLS L3VPN and L2VPN connections to ensure secure and reliable network services.

Document and handover client installations to the Project Office, ensuring all relevant details are captured for future support and maintenance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Extensive experience in network engineering and management, with a proven track record in core network systems.

People management skills, including team leadership, conflict resolution, and performance management.

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure.

Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including after-hours and standby shifts.

CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIP or relevant certificate/diploma
