We are seeking a dedicated and skilled HMR Kitchen Cook to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to prepare high-quality meals for our Home Meal Replacement department, ensuring fresh, tasty, and visually appealing food that meets SPAR’s standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook a variety of meals for the HMR department, including entrees, sides, and ready-to-eat dishes.
Follow standardized recipes and portion guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen workspace in compliance with food safety regulations.
Ensure all prepared meals are properly labeled, stored, and displayed for sale.
Collaborate with the HMR team to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings.
Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards, including HACCP guidelines.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a cook or in a similar role, preferably in a retail or food service environment for at least 2 years.
Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment.
Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality food.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Culinary training or certification is a plus but not required.
