An exciting opportunity exists in the Real Estate Department in the Johannesburg office for a Conveyancing Secretary.
The ideal candidate needs to be a pro-active legal secretary who will provide Conveyancing and administrative support to the team. A hardworking, self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and organising skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision will thrive in the position.
Qualifications and Experience
- A paralegal, secretarial, or administrative diploma in conveyancing would be advantageous
- At least five years’ experience in a similar environment, working on FNB Private Wealth/RMB Private Banking.
- Proficiency in Lexisconvey, AJS and Repstor – would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
Conveyancing Secretarial tasks
- Scrutinizing instructions from the bank and complying with the conditions of loans granted
- Preparing documentation and arranging for clients to sign
- Ensuring that clients comply with conditions of sale and FICA requirements
- Typing legal documents and correspondence
- Ensuring that financial aspects of the transaction are in order and collecting payment
Administrative tasks
- Following up on outstanding requirements and communicating with clients Attending to telephonic and email queries and requests from clients
Skills and Competencies
- Good interpersonal and communications skills
- Strong organising skills, meticulous with a high attention to detail
- Ability to work toward meeting tight deadlines in a highly pressurized environment
- Taking Initiative and assuming responsibility for ensuring expeditious processing of transactions
