CONVENTIONAL Lathe Operator
The ideal candidate should be able to efficiently operate a conventional lathe to produce high quality finished products in accordance with drawings and/or samples
The candidate should have:
A strong understanding of machining principles

The candidate should be able to:
Work with a variety of materials including various metals and plastics
Perform a variety of operations including turning, boring, threading, and facing
Identify & use the appropriate tools for the job
Work productively with precision, and adherence to safety protocols
Read & Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine the appropriate machining operations
Use sample products to produce a newly manufactured finished product of the sample supplied
Use & read measuring tools including Verniers, micrometers & clock gauge
Understand and work within high tolerances
Troubleshoot and make adjustments to the machinery to ensure optimal performance and productivity is essential
Perform routine maintenance to machine & tools
Collaborate and work with with other team members from various departments to ensure that all products meet the required standards and specifications.
Think innovatively to find solutions to unconventional problems
Work with clients and management to ensure client satisfaction and client retention
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 3 years work experience in the same role
Reliable transport is non-negotiable
Job Types: Full-time, Temp to perm
Contract length: 3 months
Pay: R70,00 – R90,00 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
Benoni, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
