Position Overview: As a Control Room Operator for an alarm company, your primary responsibility will be to monitor and manage alarm systems, ensuring the timely and appropriate response to alarms and emergencies. You will work in a fast-paced environment, using advanced technology and communication systems to safeguard the security and safety of clients’ properties. Attention to detail, quick thinking, and the ability to handle stressful situations calmly are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Alarm Monitoring: Monitor alarm systems and surveillance equipment in the control room to detect and respond to alarms promptly and accurately.

Emergency Response: Coordinate and communicate with emergency response personnel, such as police, fire, or medical services, when alarms or emergencies occur.

Incident Documentation: Document all alarm events, incidents, and actions taken in a clear and concise manner, maintaining accurate records of all activities during shifts.

Troubleshooting and Technical Support: Provide technical support to clients regarding alarm system functionalities, troubleshooting system issues, and guiding them through necessary procedures.

System Maintenance: Perform routine checks on alarm systems, ensuring equipment functionality, identifying and reporting any malfunctions or abnormalities.

Communication and Coordination: Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and emergency services via telephone, email, or other communication channels, ensuring accurate and timely information exchange.

Compliance and Protocols: Adhere to established protocols, company policies, and standard operating procedures to maintain high levels of security, confidentiality, and compliance.

Training and Development: Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and protocols related to alarm monitoring and emergency response procedures through continuous learning and training initiatives.

Team Collaboration: Collaborate with fellow control room operators and supervisors, providing support, sharing knowledge, and maintaining a cohesive team environment.

Crisis Management: Demonstrate the ability to handle high-stress situations calmly, making critical decisions and taking appropriate actions to ensure the safety and security of clients.

Qualifications and Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in security management or relevant field is a plus.

Proven experience in alarm monitoring, emergency response, or a related field is preferred.

Familiarity with alarm systems, CCTV surveillance, access control, and other security-related technologies.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to relay information accurately and effectively.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to handle stressful situations and make quick decisions while maintaining composure.

Proficient computer skills and experience with alarm monitoring software and communication systems.

Knowledge of local laws, regulations, and protocols related to security and emergency response procedures.

Strong ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and security.

Willingness to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as alarm monitoring is a 24/7 operation.
