Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Concrete Finisher to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming freshly poured concrete into smooth, durable surfaces that meet precise specifications. Your expertise will ensure high-quality finishes on a variety of projects, including sidewalks, driveways, and commercial structures. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, applying your skills to create lasting concrete features while adhering to safety standards and project timelines.
Responsibilities
- Finish concrete surfaces by smoothing, leveling, and shaping freshly poured concrete using hand tools and power tools such as trowels, floats, and screeds.
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to accurately follow project specifications for formwork, rebar placement, and surface finishes.
- Install formwork and rebar according to schematics and construction plans to prepare for concrete pouring.
- Operate concrete mixers and pumps efficiently to ensure proper mixing and placement of concrete on-site.
- Cut, shape, and install concrete components including curbs, stairs, slabs, and decorative features like stucco or tile accents.
- Follow all construction workplace safety regulations diligently to maintain a safe environment for yourself and team members.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of hand tools, power tools, concrete mixers, and cutting equipment used in finishing processes.
- Experience with concrete forming, pouring, finishing techniques including troweling and floating for smooth surfaces.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining precision during installation tasks such as rebar placement or formwork construction.
- Familiarity with construction site safety regulations including OSHA standards to ensure compliance at all times.
- Experience working on diverse construction projects—whether new builds or restoration efforts—demonstrating adaptability across different environments.
